ABOUT ME

Hey there! I'm Emma Gressler
I created this digital film festival for my high school senior thesis project on American and international classic cinema, with the intent that I could gain a deeper understanding of the cultural gaps between generations, and share that knowledge with the world. Each film included in this festival is 1 of 20 films that I watched in the duration of my 12 week project. I chose each of these films specifically because they all have cultural relevance to modern times. Only 2 of the films are from the U.S., and 4 of the films are from other countries, including Brazil, Senegal, Japan, and Germany. This was done so that American viewers can expand their horizons beyond American classics. I went into this project not even knowing what a classic film would mean internationally, but I am so happy that I explored around the world from the comfort of my couch.

All of these films have impacted my point of view in some shape or form. I hope that by watching these classic films, audience members can gain an enhanced understanding of the world around them, just like I did.

Enjoy!

P.S., it's called The Little Screen because this digital film festival is unavailable in theaters. I hope you got the joke :D
