In the music video for “APESH*T”, the Carters wear suits that are similar to the colors that Mory and Anta wear in Touki Bouki (1973). Even the song has lyrics that align with the plot of the film “I can’t believe we made it” (Beyoncé). Furthermore, when The Carters announced their On the Run II Tour, the promotional pictures had a motorcycle with a zebu skull, exactly like the motorcycle in Touki Bouki (1973)
